The pictures on this website are of buildings, relics and artifacts that were left behind after the many Goldrushes in the period of 1851 to 1900.

These gold rushes occured in the Golden Triangle area of
Central Victoria, Australia .
Bendigo
Ballarat
Beaufort
Maryborough
Avoca
Castlemaine
Clunes
Melbourne
Ararat
More than 80 million ounces of gold or 2500 Tons of gold were recovered from Central Victoria in the gold rushes of the mid to late 1800's.
The figures would be much higher as a lot of "unofficial" gold was never recorded.
In todays value (Feb 2008), the gold was worth over AU$80,000,000,000 (80 Billion Dollars)
